UNE 150008 Environmental risk analysis and assessment

What is it?

In a changing environment and more aware of environmental problems, it is essential that organizations identify and evaluate the environmental risks to which they are exposed. 

The UNE 150008 standard establishes the requirements and methodology for the evaluation and quantification of all the environmental risks of the organization in the development of its activity, allowing to rank them and establish a strategy to act on them.

To establish the environmental risk is taken into account: 

• The identification of causes and hazards, from which the indicator events that could cause an incident are specified. 
• The assignment of the probability of occurrence of such an event.

For this purpose, factors such as the structure of the organization, the management system, procedures, internal and external communication, preventive culture, training, training, environmental conditions in the workplace, etc. are analyzed.

With these data, the risk estimation and evaluation is carried out, allowing the implementation of measures to manage the risk.
