Homologations and Procedures

Welding procedure qualification

The use of welds has become more common over the years in all type of production processes, which is why both the welder and the weld must be qualified and homologated.

In the scope of welding procedures homologations, welded joints are also included in the homologation of welding procedures in metallic materials. Usually, these verifications are made before the start of the welding works to verify that both the base and input materials are compatible, according to the design codes. In each of the inspections, the decision of whether the inspection will be carried out by a non-destructive test laboratory is voluntary, as the specifications are included in the design codes used.

In order to obtain a qualified welding procedure, OCA Global helps you develop and evaluate welding procedures. This qualified weld is inspected afterwards using destructive mechanical and non-mechanical test to ensure its quality.
