UNE 179001
What is it?
The UNE 179001:2007 standard is part of a series of standards developed to increase the health protection of the customers of dental centres and ensure quality in the provision of these services.
The general principles and requirements that dental centres must meet to ensure the quality and orientation of their processes to protect the health of the customers are established in the UNE 179001 standard. The standard establishes the requirements that apply to the organisation of the medical centre, to the facilities and equipment, and to the processes of service provision regarding the dental services. It also includes aspects related to the qualification and training of the healthcare personnel and professionals that make up the care team of the centre.
As an example of these requirements, we can highlight the need for the centres to have the necessary equipment to make an appropriate diagnosis and an adequate and satisfactory intervention, the presence of a medical professional, the external identification as a dental clinic or interior signage, among others.
The certification recognises centres with the necessary equipment, infrastructure, and medical professionals to guarantee the quality of their services.
