OCA Global was selected at the end of last year by the European Commissionto carry out the implementation of the project “Environmental Feasibility Study EUD Paraguay”, to provide technical assistance to the EU Delegation in Asuncion (Paraguay) in the identification of strategic areas of support in the sector of environmental protection and the fight against climate change in the country.
The main sectors prioritized by our team for this analysis have been:
- Agriculture: including agriculture and livestock, agro-industries, sustainable food value chains, and circular economy
- Water and water resources
- Forestry, forestry and land-use change, biodiversity and conservation
The workshops have been organized in a hybrid way, with stakeholders attending both in person and virtually (in order to ensure the presence of as many stakeholders as possible while guaranteeing the safety of all participants in front of Covid-19).
Some of the institutions present at the workshops were: the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the National Forestry Institute, the Paraguayan Industrial Union, the National Council of Science and Technology, the Paraguayan Institute of Agrarian Technology, the Paraguayan Institute of Agrarian Technology, the Paraguayan Organization of Intermunicipal Cooperation, the National Institute of Rural and Land Development, the Federation for the Self-Determination of Indigenous Peoples of Paraguay, and the Network of Environmental and Development NGOs, among many others.
