Following the accident that occurred on January 14 this year at Industrias Químicas del Óxido de Etileno (IQOXE), OCA GLOBAL was selected to carry out the supervision and inspection of all the affected plants.
Since last February we have been working together uninterruptedly with the Regulatory Inspection and Non Destructive Testing (NDT) divisions of the Tarragona offices.
The degree of collaboration between OCA Global and IQOXE has been at a maximum; in this way, it has been possible to develop with maximum safety all the work from the beginning to date: pressure tests, revision of lines and equipment, supervision of the impacts as a result of the incident, NDT and all the relevant documentation for the Department of Industry of the Generalitat de Catalunya (certificates of conformity, certificates, reports, etc.) with an uncommon follow-up by the Catalan Administration.
On May 13, it obtained the necessary permits to restart the activity of one of its main plants, Unit U-2000. As a result, it has been able to resume approximately 20% of its main production. To date, intense work continues with the aim of restarting activity at the rest of the plants.
