Nerja Museum, the first in Andalusia to receive the "Q" for Quality Tourism

Last November, OCA Global carried out the audit under the reference standard UNE 302002:2018 for Museums, obtaining the certification by the Spanish Tourism Quality Institute (ICTE). The Museo de Nerja receives the "Q" for tourism quality at the "Q 2020 Awards" and within the so-called "Q Night", which is held every year within the framework of FITUR. The work carried out by this museum space has been certified, making it the first in Andalusia and the fourth in Spain with this merit.

All this is part of the process of modernization, quality management and continuous improvement in which the Cueva de Nerja Foundation, to which the Museum of Nerja belongs, is immersed. With the firm objective of always providing the best service to visitors, it has been achieved -in November 2019- that the Museum of Nerja will be recognized with this certification. As a result, new technologies will also be incorporated into the museum with audio guides, which will be available to visitors in eight languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese and Swedish, from the second quarter of this year 2020.

The UNE 302002:2018 Standard establishes the requirements for the provision of visitor services including accessibility, information and communication, visitor care, booking and ticket sales, the conduct of the visit and customer loyalty, without forgetting the requirements for the management of facilities and equipment, such as cleaning and maintenance.
