OCA Global supports Bologna in the implementation of urban projects that can reduce the existing gender gap.

In the framework of the EIB-funded project "Bridging the gender gap in urban projects in Bologna (Italy)", the Consortium formed by OCA Global CTA (leader), Istituto per la Ricerca Sociale (IRS) and Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini (FGB) will support the City of Bologna in improving its understanding of the gender gap in existing public services and infrastructures, as well as in the development of more gender-sensitive projects, more specifically in the sectors of public buildings, sustainable urban mobility and parks and open spaces.

This 10-month initiative aims to support the City of Bologna in: improving existing monitoring and reporting systems to include gender-related impacts of urban services and infrastructure projects; using gender data to develop gender-sensitive solutions for specific projects; creating key messages for dissemination to ensure replicability in similar type projects in other EU geographies.

The sectors targeted by this project will also contribute significantly to the city's green transition, so the project as a whole will contribute to making the city's green transition more inclusive.

The project has been launched in July 2022, with the organization of a face-to-face kick-off meeting with representatives of the Municipality of Bologna and the European Investment Bank.
