OCA Global Chile's Consulting and Environment Division has been awarded the contract to implement the energy efficiency management system for ENEL's Pehuenche hydroelectric power plant.
The Pehuenche hydroelectric power plant is a power generation company connected to the National Electric System (SEN). It owns and operates three hydroelectric plants located in the central-south zone of the country, in the hydrological basin of the Maule river, with an installed capacity of 699 MW.
Its first plant, Pehuenche, currently the second largest hydroelectric generation plant in the Chilean electrical system, began operating in 1991 with an installed capacity of 570 MW. At the end of 1993 it began operating its Curillinque plant, with an installed capacity of 89 MW, and in August 1997 its Loma Alta plant, with an installed capacity of 40 MW.
The purpose of the contract is to implement and support the process of obtaining certification of an energy management system for the Pehuenche hydroelectric power plant, based on the ISO 50001 standard.
