On May 3, the new ENS Royal Decree (Royal Decree 311/2022) was published. This new publication comes as a result of the years of experience of the scheme and in its eagerness for continuous improvement, which allows better adaptability and controls to organizations.
The main new features are changes in the controls and measures to be audited. For this reason, OCA Global is initiating a 2-year (24 months) transition plan from the publication of the new RD, where organizations must adapt their systems to the changes introduced.
Those organizations wishing to implement their systems from the date of publication are recommended to do so with the new RD, although the RD 2015 is considered valid until 3/05/2024. Those organizations that are currently implementing their systems and are certified based on RD 2015 will have a maximum validity of the certificates until 3/05/2024. Any certificate previously issued under RD 2015 is considered valid until its expiration. In case of renewal the RD to be certified may be selected taking into account the above premises. All issued offers referring to RD 2015 are considered valid for certification processes with RD 2015. Those customers who have those offers and want to adapt to the new RD, must communicate it and it will be necessary to issue a new offer.
For all those certification processes already started, either in the planning phase or in the certification process with audits already started, the certification process already started with the RD 2015 will be maintained according to OCA Global's transition plan. Certificates based on RD 2015 will have a maximum validity of the certificates until 3/05/2024.
